Volunteer clean up!
Saturday 27th August 2011 Following residents’ complaints about the graffiti in Belle Vue lanes and Hawthorn Junior school building looking unkempt, we spent 4 hours litter picking and removing vegetation and graffiti in Belle Vue Lane, making the area safer and more pleasent for residents to walk through. Click here for photos Keep Wales Tidy’s Chris partridge supervised the event and provided all tools and equipment. Thanks To PCSO Mollie Jones, Chris Partridge, Megan price from Llandaff North Independents, Ian, Louise, Delyth and 15 year old Sofie, who worked so hard as part of the team. |
LLandaff North Question Time
This event was a success with over 35 people attending! Thanks you to all who helped, including Chris Segar who chaired the meeting. As many will know, Julie Morgan was subsequently elected as the Cardiff North AM Hawthorn School volunteer workday- success!
Following residents’ complaints that the school was looking unkempt and falling into decline, we organised a volunteer clear up. Keep Wales Tidy’s 'Tidy Towns' officer, Chris Partridge, supervised and provided tools. Luckily the rain stayed away!
Despite the Wales Vs. Italy match, 9 people turned up on Saturday 26th February to litter pick, pull up weeds etc and generally tidy up. Over 40 bags of rubbish and vegetation were collected! We will be holding another work day in April to finish the clear up. Thanks to Chris and all who turned out to help. See more photos below... |
LNRA Volunteer workdays We have held several volunteer events eg litter picks, community garden maintenance etc and plan more. Suggestions welcome! These events will be facilitated by Cardiff Council and organisations such as Keep Wales Tidy. Children particularly welcome. Schedule to be announced. In April and May, we held 6 volunteer events where we cleared overgrown vegetation, litterpicked, had a general tidy up and painted the metal fence. Thanks to Llandaff North Christian Centre who did a large portion of work with us as part of the Ignite Hope weekend. Eventually we shall be planting a community garden. We always need volunteers to do this work, so please come along. Thanks to all those who volunteered in April and May. Llandaff North's Got Talent
